Good Bye, Vixen

I did not know Vixen in "real life." She was not a tweeting anipal. But her people tweet, which is how my Girl knows them and how we came to know about Vixen...and then her suddenly, rapidly deteriorating health...

...and her last breath today.

Vixen was a 10-year-old border terrier and while most of us can say, "Ten years is a good life for a pet" I believe we'd all agree that ten years is in no way long enough. You readers understand the heartache of losing a beloved pet and I'm hoping most of you will comment here-I know her family will be reading this. My hope is they find some comfort in the sympathy and condolences of anipals.

  1. I am sorry for your loss of Vixen.

You are right, 10 years is not enough time.

Just remember, you have a lifetime of fond memories.

  8. Dear Max: Please let Vixen's family that we all feel their loss. Time does run so quickly when we are loving our furry and human friends.

Mom and Dad have taught me that a well loved soul never travels alone. They have a piece of every soul that loved them with them forever on their journeys. Travel well, dear Vixen.

  11. Oh I'm so sorry to hear dat Vixen crossed over today. I never met Vixen but most certainly 10 years is not nearly enough with a faithful friend and companion. My hugs to you as a friend to Vixen. Most of all, I share in Vixen's family in losing a member of their family so suddenly & unexpectedly. Purrs

  13. It’s hard when a pet, which is a beloved member of the family, dies after a few years of being a significant part of your life. I remember how my kid reacted when her pet rabbit died in its rabbit hutch last year. Too bad I never explained to her about the lifespan of rabbit which is 2 to 3 years only. Now I got her a dog for a pet.

  14. I am a 10 year-old Border Terrier who was moderately, not seriously as it turned out, sick for a few months earlier in the year. My humans were so worried all the time, visiting specialists, etc. I am sure that it was a very small worry when you compare it to what Vixen's family had to go through.

I am so very sorry for Vixen's family. She is just about the cutest thing we have seen.
